Frequently Asked Questions

  • Therapy is a collaborative process between a trained professional and a client aimed at addressing emotional, psychological, and relational challenges. It can help you gain insight into your thoughts and behaviors, develop coping strategies, improve relationships, and enhance your overall well-being.

  • During our first session, we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your background, and your goals. It’s a time for you to share your concerns and for me to explain the therapeutic process and what you can expect moving forward. My priority is for you to feel safe in our time together.

  • Sessions typically last about 50 minutes. I can adjust the length based on your needs. Regular weekly sessions are common, but we can discuss a schedule that works best for you.

  • As is common with many specialty providers, I operate as an out-of-network (OON) provider and do not bill insurance directly. However, numerous insurance plans provide reimbursement for therapy received from OON providers. I can give you a superbill (a detailed receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee. Emergencies happen, and I understand that sometimes life gets in the way. I ask that clients let me know as soon as they are aware that the time scheduled will not work for them.

  • Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. Your sessions are private, and I will not disclose any information without your consent, except in situations where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or as required by law.
